Closest airport is Albany, NY. RNs will need to get their own transportation to and from the airport (approx. 50 miles)
Charting - New system, just went live with “Meditech Expanse”
Any color scrub
Position Details:
-BLS and ACLS required – confirming all certs
- 2 years of NICU experience required
- Number of beds: 7 post partum, 7 labor, 2 evaluation rooms
- Unit Ratio: Staff according to ACOG, AWHONN & AAP recommendations
- Labor 1:2 or 1:2 based on stage, 1:3-4 couplets, 1 nurse 7-8 newborns or 1 nurse to 6 mothers
- High Risk deliveries are referred to our tertiary care center for delivery.
- Ancillary staff: unit secretaries/nursing assistant
- 750 number of births per year
- Does NICU/Nursery attend deliveries? Based on risk we have a continuing care nursery level 1B. The nurses attend if they are requested or based on certain risk criteria. We have med/peds hospitalists that also attend based on NRP guidelines criteria and request as well.
